These are tips for health and nutrition to follow if you happen to be in the age range of 15 to 100.
To be and look healthy and have tons of energy all you have to do is simply follow some basic Nutrition Tips.
But first you need to understand two BIG general health concepts.
- Doctors are good for emergency situations if your injured. You shouldn’t rely on medical doctors for your health. Most doctors (99%) that go to medical school have no training in health or nutrition.
- If you currently have a health problem it is “probably” linked to your Nutrition, Stress or Toxins in Your Body
Tips for Health and Nutrition
One of the best resources I’ve read on health and nutrition is a free e-book called Lessons from the Miracle Doctors. Reading this can help set your Health & Nutrition Foundation. Download Lessons from the Miracle Doctors here for Free.
After going through the Miracle Doctors e-book you may want to visit a Naturopath, Holistic Doctor or an Alternative Medicine specialist and ask them any questions you may have.
What I’ve really realized about reading the e-book is that a large % of your health lies in effectively digesting your food. Cleansing, taking probiotics, eating green vegetables, enzymes, chewing your food, when you drink water, are all mainly to help with digesting your food.
1. Start with Cleansing and Detoxifying Your Colon and Liver – add a good source of fiber to your daily nutritional plan. I get a bag of Bobs Red Mill Golden Flaxseed and grind it up and put 1 tbsp in my Super Shake or I just drink it with water, a little lemon and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
2. Use a Good Probiotic formula to help with digestion – I buy most of my supplements like probiotics. enzymes, Pamela’s Pancake Mix, and energy bars from VitaCost online as they seem to have the best prices and a large assortment of products. After researching, the probiotic I bought was Garden of Life Primal Defense 90 caplets.
3. Eat Plenty of Enzymes – if you don’t eat a lot of greens like spinach, or broccoli with each meal, you should be adding an enzyme pill to help digest all of your proteins, carbs, and fats. There are enzymes in the greens which help you digest your food. This is one of the main reasons why you should eat your greens.
4. Eat Whole Foods According To Your Blood Type – I’ve went to a couple Naturopaths in Colorado and all fully believed in the Eating for your Blood Type. How can you argue with over 15 years of research. Get the book Eat Right 4 Your Type by Peter J. D’Adamo.
5. Why Being a Vegetarian isn’t all that smart – even if you think you shouldn’t eat meat take a look at your teeth. If we were suppose to eat just vegetables and bread we would have all flat teeth.
Also, if your a blood type O and decided to be a vegetarian and having health problems, eat some darn meat. Make sure its organic of course. And limit or try not to eat pork.
6. STOP Drinking Milk – cows milk has 20 times the casein of human milk. Cows milk is designed to take a calf from 90 lbs to 1,000 pounds in about 24 months. There are some good rice milks, almond milks and other grain milk alternatives. If you must drink milk get the good stuff, which is not homogenized or pasteurized.
7. Don’t Eat Trans Fats or Hydrogenated Oils – only use raw natural oils like extra virgin olive oil.
8. Eliminate Refined and Processed Foods – these are foods that contain white flour, white sugar, white rice, cold cereals with more than 5g. of sugar, snack foods, soda pop, etc… Try to keep as much sugar as you can, out of your diet.
9. Take A Liquid Vitamin, Mineral & Phytonutrient Supplement - if you don’t eat enough Whole Foods, you should start taking a liquid multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. Ditch the pills so you can actually get the full benefit of the vitamins and minerals.
I currently take Vemma. It has all the vitamins and minerals your body needs, including mangosteen for an antioxidant, green tea, and aloe vera. I have it shipped once every other month since I do get a good deal of whole foods. I am not affiliated with the company in any way.
10. Drink Tea or Take Herbs – lets face it, if we get a headache or have a little cold we take a pill. Instead we should be taking some herbs that help with your condition or by drinking tea.
11. ANTIOXIDANTS – include these into your diet to help your immune system protect you. Taking an antioxidant supplement may also help you with premature aging. I talked about Vemma the supplement I use in #9.
12. Balance Your Hormone Levels – as women when you get into menopause you may start getting a little fatter because your hormones are changing. My brother got my mom a book by Christiane Northrup, The Wisdom of Menopause, Creating Physical and Emotional Health During the Change.
For men your testosterone levels start to drop at around 35-40 years old. One of the best supplements for men to take to increase HGH naturally is MediTropin by Nutraceutics.com
You may also want to get a specific hormone test to see what hormones are out of whack.
13. Drink 60 – 90 Ounces of Filtered Reverse Osmosis Water Everyday – take your body weight and divide it by 2.5 to get your number. Water regulates the functions in our body like assisting in the movement of blood, transporting nutrients into our cells, and the movement of waste out of our cells to name a few… Remember, don’t drink your tap water.
14. Cleanse Your Liver, Gallbladder and Blood – if you overeat, eat too much protein, drink too much alcohol, eat too many simple carbs, or take drugs regularly you need to do a herbal detox/flush roughly 3 times a year or every four months. Do the 5 Day Cleanse in the Miracle Doctors e-book on page 102 and Cleansing the Blood on page 105.
15. Keep Your Body In An Alkaline State – you can do this simply by eating green vegetables every time you eat or simply have a green drink supplement or green drink shake with say broccoli, spinach, apple and lime or lemon. Eating sugary foods keeps your body in an acid state. Sugar = Acid.
16. Optimize Your Immune System – drink teas that are helpful like Echinacea, Pau d’arco, Suma, take small amounts of garlic, medicinal mushrooms, or aloe vera. These are especially helpful when you are sick. Also increase vitamin C.
17. Stay Positive and Reduce Stress – it shouldn’t be any surprise, people that are more positive have less stress. Having less stress will make you a healthier person. Do not take drugs because of depression.
If anything, change something in your life, or drink a herbal tea. You can also meditate with Holosync, practice doing visualization and affirmations, or create a bucket list or life list .
18. Exercise 3 Times A Week – I wrote a post on How To Workout Effectively that helps you with this. The major benefits are increased oxygen to cells, movement of lymph fluid, cell stimulation, opens energy channels, releases stress, makes you feel better and you reward yourself with a better looking body.
19. Eliminate Prescription Drugs – now I’m not a doctor, but if your taking prescription drugs ask yourself why. Go over the prescription drugs your taking with a Naturopath and devise a plan if at all possible to stop taking them. Drugs only suppress symptoms, they DO NOT treat the cause. A naturopath or holistic doctor will help you find the cause.
20. Don’t Buy Anything With This In It –
High Fructose Corn Syrup, Artificial Sweeteners like aspartame and splenda, white flour, white sugar, anything processed or refined, food chemicals like Yellow #5, Blue #2 found found in candies and cereals for kids, MSG, meats that have nitrites or nitrates, trans fats and saturated fats.
21. Eat More Low Glycemic Foods – now everyone probably can’t eat all low glycemic foods all the time, but if you try to eat low glycemic foods you’ll have more energy and less crashes throughout the day.
22. STOP Eating at Fast Food Restaurantss – most fast food and restaurant food sucks! Their high calorie big butt meals, usually have tons of sugar, fat, salt and chemicals. They can really screw you up, watch the movie Super Size Me.
23. Look At Food Nutrition Labels Before Buying Food – if your not checking food nutrition labels on the food your purchasing you better start. Double check to make sure what your buying is good and nutritious. How do you know if food is good or bad, read good nutrition books found on my website.
24. See Your Health Team – you should visit regularly with your alternative medicine health team. You should have a chiropractor and massage therapist at the very least. See a naturopath 1-3 times a year. Get some insights from a herbalist. You may want to even do acupuncture, reflexology, or some other alternative medicine techniques.
25. Try To Use Microwave Less or Throw It Out – it kills the enzymes in your food. If you eat TV dinners regularly you should stop as they don’t have hardly any nutritional value.
26. Read Good Books That Talk About Nutrition – you can check out some good Nutrition and Health books I recommend here.
